Strawberry Rhubarb

This jam is the source of many extended conversations with customers at the farmer’s markets.  It is one of my best-selling flavors…after the Mustang grape.  It started as a southern summer pie recipe that I then tweaked to create my strawberry rhubarb jam.  To the Northerners, particularly those from Wisconsin and Minnesota, this jam does not have enough rhubarb – I joke and say this is a southern recipe, where we like our strawberries too.  It is a blend of 50/50 strawberries and rhubarb, to the 90 to 95 percent rhubarb.  This is not as sweet tasting to the tongue as the strawberry, it has a slight tart flavor.  The pairings are similar to those of the strawberry jam.

I truly enjoy selling at Farmer’s Markets; Being my own boss, selling my own products at the markets can be a lot of fun!

Ingredients:  Strawberries, rhubarb, cane sugar, lemon juice and pectin.
